Overview
In this final research paper, you will expand on what you have learned throughout the course by analyzing a major issue related to intelligence collection. This assignment asks you to apply course concepts, connect your research to the Student Learning Outcomes, and demonstrate your understanding of intelligence collection methods, practices, challenges, and consequences.
You will select one research topic from the list below and develop a structured paper that explains the issue, analyzes its significance, supports your position with credible sources, and connects your analysis to intelligence collection and national security.

You may modify one of these topics or combine related elements from different topics, but your final paper must remain focused on intelligence collection and must clearly connect to course concepts.
Acceptable and Ethical Use of AI
- You may use AI tools to brainstorm topic ideas, clarify course concepts, organize research questions, or identify areas for further investigation. Any information obtained through AI must be verified using credible academic, governmental, or professional sources.
- Your final paper must be written in your own words and reflect your own research, analysis, and conclusions. AI may not write the paper for you, and submitting AI-generated work as your own violates course academic integrity expectations.
Directions
Please read all instructions carefully before submitting your assignment.
- Your paper should be 8-10 pages, excluding the title page and reference page.
- Your paper must use APA style, including 12-point font, 1-inch margins, and double spacing.
- A minimum of at least three (3) sources is required, with proper APA citations in a Reference Page and proper in-text citations.
- Sources should support your argument and should not account for more than 10-15% of the total paper.
- Abstract NOT needed.
- Submissions are checked against a Plagiarism Checker and AI Detector.
- Direct quotes should not exceed 15% of the total paper.
- AI Usage – you must use AI ethically. Papers written by an AI is cheating.
