High-tech crime challenges many traditional assumptions about offending because crimes can occur across geographic boundaries, involve highly specialized skills, and create forms of harm that are often less visible than conventional crimes. Throughout this module, you examined how criminological theories can be applied to cybercrime and how factors such as anonymity, technical expertise, perceived risk, and online culture influence offender decision making.
