Overview

Students will write a paper synthesizing the four major correctional ideologies—punishment, rehabilitation, prevention, and restorative justice—and discuss why correctional ideologies change over time. They will draw on the assigned readings to evaluate the impact of these shifts on correctional policy and practice.
