Module Overview
Module 2 focuses on understanding the criminal justice system as both a process and a historical institution shaped by social change. Through analysis of a real criminal case, you will trace how individuals move through law enforcement, the courts, and corrections, while also reflecting on where you see yourself working within this system. You will then broaden that perspective by examining major crime-related events and policies from the past fifty years and the social and economic forces that influenced them. Together, these activities emphasize how individual cases and historical trends intersect to shape the modern criminal justice system and related career pathways.
