Overview
This assignment is designed to help you understand the nature of international criminal groups and their impact on global crime. You will examine what defines a criminal group in an international context and analyze the activities of three major transnational criminal organizations. The activity also explores how these groups influence international crime patterns and challenge international criminal justice organizations. Through comparison and analysis, you will gain insight into the complexities of combating organized crime across borders. The goal is to strengthen your understanding of transnational crime and the importance of international cooperation in addressing it.

- Explain what is meant by the term criminal group in an international context

- Identify and analyze three (3) international criminal groups For each group:
- Identify the group and the region(s) in which it operates
- Describe the primary types of criminal activity associated with the group
- Explain how the group’s activities impact international crime (e.g., drug trafficking, human trafficking, money laundering, cybercrime)
- Impact on international criminal justice organizations
- Analyze how these criminal groups challenge international law enforcement and justice organizations (such as coordination, jurisdiction, or enforcement issues)
- Explain how international criminal justice organizations respond to or attempt to combat these groups
- Comparative analysis
- Compare the three groups in terms of organization, scope, and threat level
- Discuss which group you believe poses the greatest challenge to international criminal justice efforts and why

- Explain why international criminal groups are particularly difficult to control or dismantle
