Overview

This activity is designed to help you explore career pathways within the criminal justice system by examining roles that align with your interests and goals. You will research three positions and describe each role’s responsibilities, typical pay scale, education requirements, and necessary qualifications. Using one of these positions as your focus, you will then identify short-term and long-term goals that support achieving that career. The purpose is to connect academic planning with realistic professional outcomes and begin thinking intentionally about your future in the field.

    • Role of each position
    • Pay scale Education requirements
    • Qualifications 
  • List 5 short-term goals that will aid you in achieving one of these positions
  • List 5 long-term goals that will aid you in achieving one of these positions
Acceptable and Ethical Use of AI
  • “Provide an overview of how correctional practices have evolved from ancient times through the Enlightenment period. Highlight key reforms and philosophical shifts that influenced modern correctional systems.”
  • “Explain how Enlightenment thinkers shaped the development of more humane approaches to punishment. Compare these ideas to earlier methods of justice found in ancient codes or medieval systems.”

  • A minimum of at least two (2) sources, with proper APA citations in a Reference Page and proper in-text citations.
  • Abstract NOT needed.
